About Sigma Delta Tau

Sigma Delta Tau, a National Sorority for college women, was founded at Cornell University on March 25, 1917.
SDT is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference and has over 40,000 alumnae from over ninety college campuses across the United States and Canada


The Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Delta Tau at SUNY Oneonta was re-colonized in October of 2003. The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau strive for excellence in all areas socially, physically, and mentally. Sigma Delta Tau hopes to uphold the values of sisterhood, academic excellence, and leadership it has come to hold dear. The chapter follows a 100% no hazing policy and hopes to continue on as a strong group of women who excel in all aspects of life.

 

New Member Period

The New Member Period is 6 weeks designed to allow new members explore the world of Sigma Delta Tau. It is a chance to learn about sorority life and Sigma Delta Tau while growing with many new friends and leadership opportunities available to them. This period gives you the chance to learn about SDT's history and traditions while having plenty of opportunities to bond with your pledge class and other active members of Sigma Delta Tau.

Hazing is against Sigma Delta Tau's policy and is not permitted! Hazing is any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premisis, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrasment, harrasment, or ridicule
